Sliding Door Repair in San Diego, CA
From the 1920s Craftsman bungalows of North Park to the glass-walled canyon houses of Carmel Valley, the city covers a century of construction and every sliding door system that came with it. We work all of it.
The city is really several climates
A sliding door in Ocean Beach and the same door in Scripps Ranch age at completely different rates. Within a few miles of the water, salt fog drives corrosion inside roller bearings that owners never see until the door starts screaming. Ten miles inland the air is dry and the enemy is fine grit and canyon dust packing into the bottom track.
It changes what we bring. Coastal calls almost always need sealed stainless roller assemblies. Inland calls more often turn out to be a track choked with debris and a door that has simply never been serviced.
What we see by neighbourhood
The post-war stock across Clairemont, Allied Gardens and Serra Mesa is largely original aluminium sliders from the 1950s and 60s. Those frames are usually still straight and worth keeping — the hardware is what has died, and it is replaceable.
North Park, South Park and Kensington bungalows often have doors retrofitted into openings that were never designed for them, so racking and out-of-square frames are more common. Newer construction in Carmel Valley, Del Sur and Pacific Highlands Ranch tends toward multi-slide and pocket systems, which are excellent doors with heavy panels and correspondingly expensive hardware.
Canyon homes and wind
San Diego's canyon lots are beautiful and hard on doors. A large slider facing an open canyon takes wind loading that a suburban door never sees, and that load goes straight into the roller assemblies and the frame.
On those openings we check frame square more carefully and usually recommend heavier roller assemblies than the factory specified.

San Diego — common questions
Do you cover all of San Diego city?
Yes, from downtown and the coastal communities through Clairemont and Mira Mesa to Scripps Ranch, Carmel Valley and the eastern neighbourhoods. Enter your ZIP code on our homepage if you want to confirm before calling.
How quickly can you get to me in San Diego?
Most city calls are scheduled same day or next day. Genuine security emergencies — broken glass, a door that will not lock — are dispatched around the clock.
Why do coastal San Diego doors fail faster?
Airborne salt corrodes the bearings inside roller assemblies from the inside out. Homes in Ocean Beach, Pacific Beach and La Jolla frequently need roller service every seven to ten years, where a comparable door in Scripps Ranch may run twice as long.
