Emergency Sliding Door Repair
Broken glass or a door that will not lock is a security problem, not a scheduling problem. We secure the opening tonight and glaze it properly in daylight.
What counts as an emergency
A ground-floor opening that cannot be secured. That covers broken or shattered glass, a door that has come off its track and cannot be reseated, a failed lock on an accessible door, and damage following a break-in or attempted entry.
It also covers commercial entrances that have failed in a position that blocks egress or leaves premises open. Those are prioritised at any hour.
What we do on the night call
The first job is making the opening safe and secure. Broken tempered glass is cleared and disposed of, the opening is boarded or secured, and where possible the door is made operable and lockable again on the spot.
Roller and lock failures we frequently fix outright on the emergency visit, because the parts are on the van. Glass is the exception: the panel is measured that night and the tempered unit fitted when it arrives, typically within the week.
After a break-in
If there has been a forced entry, photograph everything before we touch it — insurers ask, and once we secure the opening the evidence is gone. We can provide a written report of the damage and the repair for your claim.
Most forced sliders are levered out of the top channel rather than smashed. When we repair one we will normally recommend anti-lift blocks and a foot bolt, which specifically defeat that method and cost very little fitted at the same time.
Cost
Emergency callouts carry an after-hours rate on top of the repair. You are told the total on the phone before we dispatch — there is no discovery of the price at midnight on your doorstep.
If the work can safely wait until normal hours, we will say so and book it at the standard rate. Not everything that feels urgent needs an emergency charge.

My sliding door glass shattered. Is it dangerous?
Tempered glass breaks into blunt granules rather than shards, which is much safer than plate glass, but the volume of fragments is significant and the frame edges are sharp. Keep children and pets away from the area and let us clear it.
Someone tried to force my sliding door. What should I do?
Photograph the damage before anything is moved or repaired — insurers will ask for it. Then call us to secure the opening. When we repair it we will recommend anti-lift hardware, because levering the panel out of the top channel is how most sliders are forced.
Do you charge extra for after-hours calls?
There is an after-hours rate, and you are told the full number on the phone before we dispatch. If the situation can safely wait for normal hours we will tell you that instead.
