Automatic sliding entrances
Automatic doors fail at four points: the sensors that detect approach and presence, the drive motor and belt, the carriage rollers the panels hang from, and the controller that coordinates them.
Sensor faults are the most common and the most misdiagnosed — a door that opens at random or refuses to close is usually a misaligned or contaminated presence sensor, not a failed motor. We test the detection fields properly rather than replacing parts and hoping.
Safety and compliance
Automatic pedestrian doors carry real safety obligations. Presence detection has to hold the door open while someone is in the threshold, closing force and speed are limited, and required safety signage must be present and legible.
We test detection fields, closing speed and hold-open timing on every service visit and document what we found. If a door is out of compliance, you get told in writing — that record matters if there is ever an incident.

Most commercial door failures are predictable and therefore preventable. A quarterly or semi-annual service — sensor calibration, belt tension, roller inspection, safety verification — costs far less than a single emergency callout during trading hours.

Do you offer emergency service for commercial doors?
Yes, 24 hours a day. A failed automatic entrance is both a trading problem and a liability exposure, and it is prioritised accordingly.
My automatic door opens for no reason. What causes that?
Usually the motion sensor. Reflective floors, moving signage, rain on the sensor housing and heat shimmer can all trigger detection. Realigning or recalibrating the sensor normally resolves it without any parts.
Can you service automatic doors installed by another company?
Yes. We work on the major manufacturers' systems regardless of who installed them, and we can take over an existing maintenance schedule.
How often should commercial automatic doors be serviced?
Semi-annually for typical retail and office traffic; quarterly for high-cycle entrances such as supermarkets and medical facilities. Regular safety verification is also the record you want to have if an incident ever occurs.
